The fort built in 1770s is now a museum and a tourist attraction. As I’ve heard, it’s the best preserved historical site in Tobago. I’m a history professor and I find places like this fascinating. A must see for families because the kids will love cannons. Also, a must see for all the history enthusiasts.
This is the only place from where you can see the entire Port of Spain and the view is spectacular. Also, the cannons are amazing in case you have never seen one.
Always a breathtaking view. When I visit it’s always a good place to lunch. The night view is also breathtaking. Make sure you visit Fort King George on your next vacation.
We booked our tickets online. The fort is atop a hill and the view on the Scarborough bay is breathtaking. You can see colonial era restored buildings and several cannons. Interesting place overall. There’s many saman trees and the benches underneath in the shade, so you can enjoy a nice picnic.
There’s a small but interesting museum with artifacts from 1600s to now on. Relics, maps, geologic exhibit, many interesting things from Amerindian collection. You can also see paintings depicting Tobago in the beginning of the 19th century.
