I’ve been told that this was the actual cave of Robinso Cruso, and that the adventure in the booked actually happened right here. To be honest, I couldn’t resist the curiosity of seeing this place. For a very small fee, visitors can actually get inside and see the glorious of what is a sea cave. You can jump in the waters and swim in the cave pools. Also, make sure you get some comfortable shoes because the rocks are quite edgy and if you plan to climb up and down you’d need something better than flip flops.

We took this excursion on our first day and had the best day in the entire vacation, only because we were all into swimming in impossible places and seeing caves that actually inspired books (or as the locals told us, Robinson really was there). Anyway, it’s a place worth seeing and visiting.

After some locals said there’s an attraction called Crusoe’s Cave, I had to see it, even though some of them claimed they descended from him (a fictitious character!). It’s hardly a cave, but it’s interesting and feels good to swim in cave pools.

A place worth seeing for it’s cave pools and wild rocky beach, regardless of the Crusoe legend.

Now surely they get you when they tell you the tour goes to the Cruso’s cave. I found it hard to believe anything about this myth, but it’s a rather cool place and surely I recommend it as one of the must visit places on the islands.

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island in the Caribbean archipelago. Located just off the north-eastern coast of the South America mainland, the twin island Republic is home to international greats such as Miss Universe 1998, Wendy Fitzwilliam; Cricket Legend, Brian Charles Lara; and Carnival, the Greatest Show on Earth. The larger of the two islands, Trinidad, has a boot-like shape, measures 37 miles (80km) by 50 miles (60 km), and is noted for having an ecological and geographical diversity that is unmatched in the region.

The capital city, Port of Spain, is the business centre of the Caribbean, housing the headquarters for a number of local businesses, a myriad of restaurants and nightlife entertainment like no other. The sister isle of Tobago is a stark contrast to Trinidad. Considerably smaller in size, Tobago is well-known for its coral reefs, pristine blue waters and white sandy beaches, the smaller island is perfect for leisure activities and an immersive experience with nature. An abundance of natural reserves in oil and natural gas has made significant contributions to the strength of the Trinidad & Tobago economy—making it one of the strongest economies in the region.
