We spotted the Pirate Bay while we were having a stop on a hill with cannons right above it. My children started nagging and begging us to take them there, mostly because of the name, they thought they’d see real pirates. We took a boat taxi and we went there the next day and let me tell you that the bay is even prettier than it was from the view point. The water is amazing, the beach is sandy and protected with deep shadows from the woods and there are some real nice hotels along the coast line.
I am in love with beaches that have natural shadow. The forest behind the beach was a perfect way to get off the sun. We came here with a boat tour and certainly didn’t carry a beach umbrella so the trees were excellent protection. The water was super warm that day. If you snorkel, this is one of the bays where people like to dive in.
