The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is the southernmost island in the Caribbean archipelago. The sister isle of Tobago is a stark contrast to Trinidad. Considerably smaller in size, Tobago is well-known for its coral reefs, pristine blue waters and white sandy beaches,the smaller island is perfect for leisure activities and an immersive experience with nature. An abundance of natural reserves in oil and natural gas has made significant contributions to the strength of the Trinidad & Tobago economy—making it one of the strongest economies in the region.

Trinidad and Tobago are definitely an island where you can see the most beautiful nature and swim in the paradise bays, but also you can hear some great stories and learn about their history. The Witch’s Grave is one of those places. The name sounds creepy and if you are a thrill seeker, I suggest you put it on your visit list. The grave is the final rest of a woman who was the village’s midwife who was believed to have mystical powers, was preparing potions for women who wanted to seduce men and so on. She was brought to T and T from Africa but after some time spent here she got lonely and wished to go back. She also believe she could fly, so she climbed on a tree but fell down and died. Locals say that her spirit was wondering around until some Canadian woman put it to rest.
My husband and I enjoyed the story about the woman Gang Gang Sarah who was the local witch and who was believed to have supernatural powers, but I don’t think that this is a place to take your kids, like some other tourists did. There is nothing scary, but it’s a grave after all. Otherwise, I love the island’s supernatural legends.
I like visiting places from legends and supernatural stories. The graves of the witch Sarah and her husband Tom are more than 200 years old and the overall area is spooky, with many weirdly shaped trees. Not a place to take youngsters.
I love this good witch story, and the place too. it’s so sad. It’s unusual to feel sorry for the witch and her destiny, but we all do.
