We were in the middle of our vacation so we had no idea where to go next, when our local guide recommended the Grafton Caledonia Bird Sanctuary. We went there super early, about 8AM and we had an interesting day. We got to see how the staff fed the birds. You can get a local tour guide to tell you more about the place, but we didn’t get. If you are fascinated by birds, this is a rather interesting place to visit.
One of the many sites where you can see exotic birds, only here you may actually see the staff how takes care of them. If you have a longer stay on the island and are trying to fill your agenda, this place may be pretty fun, especially if you like nature, birds and animals.
A unique way to see birds in one place. This place really calmed me down after a week of endless sailing, swimming and partying in the night. The staff was friendly and they let us who visited the sanctuary to actually watch them feed the birds.
