Tobago is not that famous for museums but the Tobago Museum is a definitely the cultural highlight of the island. It’s located in Barrack Guard House just outside of Scarborough. It has been used as a military prison 150 years ago and the visitors can enjoy seeing various artefacts from the period. I found it very interesting, especially the skeleton of a real Tobago native.
Tobago Museum is famous for its displays of former slavery. They also have in display big collection of antiques, things older than 150 years. I found it cool they offer a small discount for persons younger than 19 years and special discount for children under 12. It was a great visit.
Fine visit, but I’ve seen better and more fun museums. It’s historic museum about Tobago and its natives.
Perhaps you don’t expect to see museums on such an exotic island as this one, but yeah, it’s worth seeing it, there is art and artifacts from the slavery periods. It’s a small museum and it’s a cool place to visit.
